For a home-made amateur audition/demo/whatever, this is very well done. Good amount of range displayed in your voice and you know how to work the computer when you need to. Only fault I can truly find is that because it's an AUDITION and not a proper demo, it's not as diverse as it could be and I lack context to find any of this funny (assuming it's a comedy). But it's well-put together, and well performed.

Jacob responds:

Thanks man!
I agree with you on the lack of diversity to some degree. On the one hand, there are 12+ voices in this. But it's primarily dominated by two of them, so it doesn't allow the spectrum to really solidify.

Thanks again for the review. :]

Totally wack... and not in the best way

When you hear some voices, whether they speak or sing or whatever, they sound like nails against a chalkboard. But then, there's a flip-side that will love it for that unique tongue. TehSlapHappy has such a voice -- it's one of a kind, it's memorable. Sadly, contrary to the claim that this is "the best flow," it's not even close. Any chance of being "blown out the water" by said flow is gone, flushed away to the sewers. Sure the witty wordplay is almost fun the first time, but repeated listenings are torturous to sit through. Wack.

tehslaphappy responds:

So wack.

Too technical for my liking

I can't deny your skill, your talent, your willingness to give yourself carpal tunnel. Your song has a sort of lo-fi feel to it, but still very in your face. But the entire song is almost all rhythm, and that gets a little annoying when it's repeated and repeated. There were a few times where it seemed to build into something interesting, and the melodies played by the strings and piano were fascinating to listen to. Still, your technical skill not withstanding, this song doesn't reach out to me.

Gravey responds:

Sorry you didn't like it. Can't please everyone.

Wow

I heard this song on a game I was fooling around with; the first song in the game I heard besides the title song.

This song is pure pop. You're very talented.

And I read on another review, there's a newer version of the song??

Cayler responds:

Thank you. The newer version is much better. :P It can be found by looking at my collection and finding the one that was submitted in '09 (I think? lol)

"It" must mean "everything else"

This cover is pretty awesome. Better than most "official" covers I heard nowadays (Fall Out Boy standing out the most >.<). I like the solo. :D

Metaljonus responds:

I never really hear any MJ covers but fall out boy suck in general. Thanks for listening

Huh.

I was under the impression that ska was an energetic, in-your-face genre. Sure, you have the horns and the ska guitar, but they sound... I'm not sure, lazy? Perhaps its the low quality.

That aside, however, this is a pretty tight track. Maybe this cound be considered "light ska"? Lol, I'm not sure. It's pretty catchy, and the last horn lone blasted into my ears, catching me off guard. so for that, I'm giving this a 7. Not that my review counts for much.

HyruleanHyroe responds:

I know exactly what you're thinking of, and that's third wave ska/ska-core. Most of our stuff is more of a cross between modern third wave and two-tone ska. It's still ska, just not what the few ska fans of today are used to. :P Check it out on wiki. It's all true!

That last bit of horn...yeah. Bugged the shiznat out of me, but that's why we're mixing our own songs now. We can fix stuff like that. :)

Hmm

The lyrics (most likely because my ears could not fully understand what was being said) made me laugh.

I enjoyed this track because of the "bass line," if you coul call it that. Good job.

Arnas responds:

Thanks. It's mainly for the bassline

Meh

Beat's fun to listen to, but it's used in most of the songs I listen to.
However, the actual rap is interesting, because it seems you're trying to whisper it all out.
I like this.

Birds-Fly-By responds:

Thanks for the reveiw. Again I do understand your thoughts on the beat. And I listened to the track again and it does seem like I'm whispering a little. I really wasnt though, but I guess it turned out ok so whatever. Thanks for the support!

Interesting.

Nice beat.
Haven't heard the original so I can't really compare.
But still good in it's own right.

HouseMasta responds:

go listen to it. its good

Ooh

I like this.
It's unusual for a Newgrounds audio.
One thing that will settle my curiosity as (I think) the first reviewer: Was that you playing guitar(s) or a midi file?

DoobyTimePiece responds:

wav. guitar samples and such. its hard, or more or less boring to slap together riffs.

My name is Jared, I'm 19, and I never fucking learned how to read
